Katie began building her insurance career with the organization in 2008 and has grown alongside it through its evolution from its specialty insurance roots into the national MGA that Special Risk Insurance Managers is today. By 2012, while with Sports-Can Insurance, Katie had earned her Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation and continued to expand both her technical underwriting knowledge and leadership responsibilities. Over the years she progressed into the role of National Underwriting Manager, supporting underwriting teams across Canada while helping to foster consistency, collaboration and development within a rapidly growing organization.

In January 2023, Katie was promoted to Vice President of Underwriting, where she continues to play an important role in developing SRIM\’s underwriting talent, strengthening its underwriting capabilities and helping position the organization for continued profitable growth. Her contributions to the industry were recognized in 2024 when she was named one of Insurance Business Canada’s Rising Stars. Katie is particularly passionate about mentorship, preserving the tremendous knowledge that exists within the insurance industry, and creating opportunities for the next generation of insurance professionals to learn, develop and succeed.
